about

Welcome. I’m glad you’re here.

My name is Chris Wheeler, and I’m a writer and poet rooted in Middlebury, IN. My nonfiction, liturgies, and poetry have been published in Barren, Fathom, Story Warren, Reformed Worship, Think Christian, Banner, and The Rabbit Room, among others. I currently live with my wife and five children in my childhood home in Middlebury, IN. I published my first collection of poetry, Solace, in 2020. My second collection, Masks & Mirrors, is coming out this spring, 2023.

This website contains my shop and archives. Since 2021, my new home for current writing has been over at Tethered Letters. There you can find more poetry, liturgies, and long-form letters on faith and creativity. I’d love for you to join me there.

contact & usage

All poetry and liturgy posted publicly is available for use in worship services free of charge, but if you’re feeling generous and looking for a recommended amount, it would usually be $.25 per printed copy for distribution, up to $10. Attribution is great, too, because if you find my writing encouraging, others might as well. You can donate here.

I have worked for a variety of organizations and non-profits amplifying their stories through my writing, and have developed scripts, liturgies, poetry, and devotionals for a number of churches and ministries over the years. I am always open to doing custom work; just drop me a line.
